New Romney Kent House Clearance Requirements
One of our clients this week was a professional woman who was moving to Manchester in order to start a new job. She tasked us with clearing and cleaning her rented house in New Romney so that she could get the full deposit back from her landlord before moving up North. She informed us that she didn’t want any of the furniture in the house as she would be getting new things when she moved to Manchester, so she requested that we donate all the suitable furniture to local charity shops in Kent and recycle anything that wasn’t in good enough condition. She had lived in the house for ten years and admitted that she wasn’t much of a cleaner so while the house was not visibly messy, it definitely needed a thorough cleaning.
House Clearance Overview
We arrived at the house at 8am, picking up the keys from our client before she left for work. As she had described, the house was not messy but it was in desperate need of cleaning so we quickly began to clear out the larger pieces of furniture, most of which were in a decent condition, so that we could take them to local charity shops in Kent. Once the bigger items of furniture were removed, we cleared the remaining clutter from the house boxing and bagging up any items that could be donated to charity shops and re used, though there wasn’t much as our client had already moved most of her belongings up to Manchester. We then got started on the deep clean, armed with mops, buckets, hoovers and cleaning agents. Much of the bathroom was covered in limescale and several of the plugs were slow draining so we unclogged them and then scrubbed and cleaned all the surfaces, bringing them up to a brilliant shine. Overall, the house took us 6 hours to clear and clean, and by the time we had finished it looked as good as new and we were certain that our client would be able to get her full deposit back.
Disposal of Contents
As requested, we donated all of the furniture in the clients house to local charity shops in the Kent area. As the client had already removed most of her belongings we didn’t have many other items to donate and only had a small amount of waste to take to the local recycling centre.
