A college cellar void, cleared in under 3.5 hours

We were appointed to clear a void β what can only be described as a cellar β beneath a college, reached only through a trap door in the floor and a servicing door in a wall. From floor to ceiling the space was just under 5ft, so it was impossible to stand up straight, and there was no lighting at all. To work safely, the team rigged up their own lighting before removing 10 old desks, more than 50 chairs, 40 desk tops, various musical instruments, old computer parts, scrap metal, paperwork and other junk. In all, the contents removed and recycled came to just over 2 tonnes β and the whole job was completed in under 3.5 hours by four members of staff.
