Abacus house clearance were contacted by the council to help with clearing this property for their tenant. The elderly chap was being supported by adult services but still struggling to manage his tendency to hoard and the property was becoming hazardous due to the quantity of contents within it. The gentleman was also finding the stairs to his flat hard to manage and had been waiting for a ground floor property. The council had now found a fully furnished 1 bedroom, ground floor flat for him and had helped him gather immediate necessities like clothes, toiletries etc so he could move into his new home while this property was cleared for him.
Our office team was advised that there were documents and photographs remaining in the property that the tenant wanted to keep, alongside some small life items and asked if we could find these for him and deliver them to him in his new home, then clear the rest of the property. We were pleased to be able to help! The team found lots of personal paperwork, documents and photographs which the tenant was surprised and grateful for! He was settled and happy in his new home when we dropped off the box of documents and other items for him and was very grateful for all the help and support he had received!

We were booked to clear a large 4 bedroom terrace house, with a basement in Hazel Grove, Stockport. The new owners were property developers who had bought the house in an auction and even though they were aware it was in poor condition, when they visited the property for the first time — they were pretty shocked! The property was cluttered throughout with animal excrement and decaying waste. It also contained live rats which were feeding on the decaying food waste and had chewed through a lot of the electric wires/cables so the power had been turned off some time ago and there was no light or power source for the property.
The team rigged up lighting in the areas it was needed and got to work removing the decaying food, waste, litter and excrement first. Then cleared the property of the larger items and furniture. Unfortunately everything in the property had been contaminated with rodent and animal urine and faeces and was disposed of. It took two teams, three days to clear and clean this property and 7 tonnes of waste were removed.

We were hired to dismantle and dispose of 2 old and disused caravans and a trailer as well as some misc junk in Bramhall, Stockport. Neither of the 2 caravans or the trailer had been in use for over 15 years and couldn't be towed away so needed broken up and dismantled on sight and packed into the 2 vans supplied. It took a team of 4 men using an assortment of specialised tools and equipment to break up the 10ft and 15ft caravans and trailer with the job completed in half a day.
