House clearance in Gloucester

We were contacted by a man who lived in Australia and had recently bought a house in Gloucester at auction for development. He informed us that the property including a garage, greenhouse, loft, shed and various items in the garden needed to be cleared ready for builders to come in and start structural works. There were some fitted wardrobes and large pots in the garden which could stay but the rest needed to be cleared. We arrived at the house bright and early, after picking up the keys from the auction house in Gloucester. After letting ourselves into the property to undertake our initial assessment, we saw that there was a fair amount of items that appeared suitable for donation - we even tested the TV's making sure they worked. After feeding back our initial assessment to the client, who was pleased that there were going to be some donations made from the property, as an overseas customer he was sent his invoice for the approved estimate, paid and we began the clearance that morning.

The time difference between the UK and Australia can make 'instant' communication tricky but our client understood we would only be in communication should a query arise and made sure to be available during the team's working day. We started by removing the more recyclable items first, using the nearest licensed commercial recycling centre for each waste stream. While the property was being cleared, our client had arranged for a security system to be put in to help keep the empty property safe over the next few months. The team ended up waving at the cameras every morning when they arrived which made the client chuckle! Three days and eight loads later - the clearance was complete. The last load included items we had set aside for charities.

We sent the client a complete video walkround of the property once the clearance had been completed using WhatsApp. Afterwards our client called to say that he was delighted with what we had managed to achieve with the property and that he was looking forward to getting the builders in to start this renovation project!

Crewkerne Somerset · house clearance

2 Bedroom, third floor flat

We were instructed to clear a two bedroom third floor flat in Crewkerne Somerset by a firm of Solicitors, the property was being sold by auction as it belonged to a lady who had passed away and had no living relatives to inherit the property. We were told to clear everything except carpets, and any integrated white goods. That meant all curtains, furniture, clothing and any loose items from inside drawers and cupboards to be cleared and we were instructed to clean the property.

The clearance and clean were achieved in a full day. There were some items suitable for donation including TV's, books, microwave, and two recliner armchairs which had the fire safety labels still attached! There were also plenty of blankets, towels and bedding which we always try to donate to animal charities. The furniture not suitable to donate to charities, we dismantled, broke down if needed and flat packed as much as possible to get as much in each load without exceeding the weight limit we are legally allowed to carry.

Once completed, the team carried out a final check inside cupboards and kitchen units (because things can, and do get missed on occasion) and took their completed pictures before locking up and returning the keys to the solicitors in Crewkerne.

Bath · house clearance

Bath house clearance

We took on the clearance of a large 4 bedroom terraced house in Bath, Somerset. The owner of the property had evicted the tenants for non payment of rent and we were told they would have vacated the property before we arrived. It was clear that the house had been left in a hurry by the tenants as a lot of belongings were left behind and cluttered the floors and bench tops in most rooms. It took three full van loads and just over six hours to clear the house, owing to the amount of loose clutter that all needed bagging up. Underneath all the clutter and junk we found a lot of items which were in good enough condition to pass on to charity there was two bikes, golf clubs CD's DVD's bookshelves and white goods which we took to the local British Heart Foundation charity store in Bath, the remainder of the goods which were not suitable for charities were taken to the local recycling station in Bath. Whilst clearing the contents of the wardrobe the staff found a bundle of cash over £500.00 we contacted our client who was at work 10 minutes away from the property in Bath to inform her, she was very pleased to hear this as her tenants had left her with debts on the property, later in the day our client called to collect the cash and was very happy to see the property restored back to normal.
