Farnborough London House Clearance Requirements

This week we were contacted by a couple who were moving abroad to Spain for their retirement and wanted to get their property on the market as quickly as possible. They informed us that they had already moved all of their personal possessions to Spain, but had left the furniture as the house they had bought came fully furnished. They asked us to clear the furniture, give the house a good clean and also tidy up the garden to make it look attractive to potential buyers.

House Clearance Overview

We arrived at the property, a four bedroom house in Farnborough at 9am, ready to get started straight away. We had picked up the keys from a relative of our clients who lived locally earlier that morning, so we let ourselves into the property and made an initial assessment. All of the rooms have plenty of items of furniture in them, mostly traditional pine pieces. As they were all in a good condition and likely to be popular, we decided to take them all to a number of local charity shops in Farnborough. As the house had a driveway, thankfully our van was parked just outside which made transporting the items much easier. As there were a lot of pieces of furniture, it took us two hours to remove them all and pack them into our Luton van. Once we had done this though, the house was completely empty and we were ready to get on with the cleaning. The house was not in too bad a state, apart from the usual layers of dust where the furniture had been and some dirty marks on the fixtures and fittings. The kitchen was also quite greasy so required some substantial scrubbing in order to bring it back to a good state of cleanliness. Once we were finished dusting, scrubbing and hoovering the house though, we were pleased to see that it looked very attractive and would probably be sold relatively quickly. Before we left though, we had to cut back the front garden in order to make the property even more attractive. The garden consisted of any overgrown hedge and a large bush that had grown a bit out of control, as well as some general flowers and shrubs that didn’t need our attention. It was a relatively simple job, so within half an hour we had finished tidying up the garden and we were able to lock up the property with the intention of returning the keys to our clients relative down the road.
