Dartford House Clearance Requirements

This week we were contacted by a client who wanted us to clear a three bedroom house in Dartford in Kent. He had previously let the property out to a number of tenants but he now wanted to live in it himself. He told us that the previous tenants had left some furniture behind which he did not want to keep, so he wanted us to clear it and also give the house a good clean in preparation to be re decorated.

House Clearance Overview

We arrived at the property, a three bedroom end of terrace house in Dartford Kent at 9am, ready to begin straight away. Our client had left the keys with a neighbour, so after picking these up we let ourselves into the property and assessed the work that needed to be done. There were a few items of furniture in each room, including three bed frames and several chests of drawers. There were also some old newspapers and a box of kitchen equipment which was all in a good condition. We began by removing these items and packing them into the back of our Luton van which was parked just outside. All three of the bed frames needed to be dismantled before they could be removed from the house, but they were all in a good condition so we decided to take them to a local charity shop in Dartford. The other items of furniture were also in a decent condition, so we added these to the back of the van and one of our team set off to take them to the charity shop. The house was now fully clear and it was time to get started on the cleaning. The house wasn’t too dirty but there was a fair amount of dust in each room and some grubby marks on the door frames and the fixtures and fittings. We started at the top of the house and worked our way down, hoovering floors, wiping surfaces and removing dirty marks. Within two hours we had restored the house to its original state and satisfied with our work, we took pictures of each room to send to our client then we were ready to lock up the house and return the keys to our clients neighbour as requested.

Disposal of Contents

As all of the contents of the house was in good condition we took it all to a number of local charity shops in Dartford. The small amount of newspapers, rubbish and junk that were in the property we took to a licensed recycling station in Dartford to be recycled.

We emailed the photographs to our client and he later called us to say that he was very pleased with the work that we had carried out and that he was looking forward to moving into the property as soon as possible now that it was so clean.
