Canterbury House Clearance Requirements

At the beginning of the week we were contacted by a landlord who had been letting out a four bedroom house to groups of students for the last eight years. Due to changing circumstances he now wished to move into the property himself so he asked us to fully clear the property, which had been let as a furnished house and also give it a good clean. He told us there was also an extra room in the property in which he had stored spare furniture and he wanted us to clear this room also.

House Clearance Overview

We arrived at the property, a terraced house in Canterbury at 9am, ready to begin straight away. Our client was there to meet us and gave us an initial tour of the property before leaving us to get on with the job at hand. All of the rooms were fully furnished, so we decide to begin by removing all of the furniture and pack it into our Luton van which was parked just outside. All of the furniture, though cheap and well used was in a decent enough condition to be donated to charity which we were very pleased to see.The furniture that our client had kept in a separate cupboard was also in a good condition so we packed this into the van also. Once the house was clear we were ready to begin with the cleaning. As the house had been a student property for many years it was quite dirty, with a lot of stains and dirty marks throughout. Armed with a wide range of cleaning products, mops and hoovers, we cleaned the house from top to bottom, scrubbing surfaces and wiping fixtures and fittings. The two bathrooms were particularly challenging as there was a large amount of limescale and caked on grease and grime. In two hours though, the house had been returned to its original condition and looked as good as new. After taking one last look around to make sure we hadn’t forgotten anything, we packed up our van and locked up the property and took the keys to a neighbour as our client could not get back to the property before we left.

Disposal of Contents

All of the furniture in the property had been in a good condition so we were able to take the whole lot to a number of local charity shops in Canterbury, making this a very environmentally friendly clearance.
