Job Description: Abacus House Clearance was appointed earlier this week for a house clearance in Plymouth. The customer that called, was a landlord who had several houses in the Plymouth and Devon area, including a two bedroom terraced house that was being rented out by a three tenants.

The tenants had been living in the house for over 10 months, and were not keeping up with their rent payments. The landlord that warned them that failure to pay their rent would result in eviction from the house, but the tenants did not listen. After three months of no payment, the landlord handed the tenants the notice of eviction, in which they would need to find a new place to live within this time.

Unhappy with the decision of being evicted, the tenants caused havoc for the landlord, leaving the house in a poor state when they were finally evicted and left the premises. He told the team that large amounts of food waste, mess and damaged goods were left in the house, whilst damaging the fixtures of the house. They had vandalised the walls, flooring, kitchen and bathroom, leaving mess for the landlord to deal with.

Rather than calling the police and having to deal with the people again, he just decided to opt for a house clearance in Plymouth, so that the house could be cleared from their old and damaged belongings, deep cleaned and renovated. This would then mean the house could be rented out again, hopefully with nicer and more caring tenants.

Disposal of Contents: We had arrived at the house for around 9am the following morning, collecting the keys from the tenant and making our way into the complete mess of a house. We began the clearance by clearing and bagging the rubbish, food waste and other smaller items that they had left behind.

We then loaded the bags onto the van, and started to lift the larger damaged goods onto the van, and this included electrical items, some kitchen appliances, their bed, sofa and much more. This will also then loaded onto the van, and was sent to the nearest recycling centre for disposal. In total, this house clearance in Plymouth took around 6 hours, and this was primarily due to the waste and mess that they purposely left.
