Broadstairs Kent Clearance Requirements
A client who had just bought a new property to rent out in Broadstairs called us to ask for its complete clearance. The house, which the client had bought at auction, was a two-bedroom terraced property in the suburbs with a long, narrow garden. The client wanted us to clear out all the furniture that had been left behind by the previous owner, who had died the year before, as he intended to let out the property unfurnished.
The garden also needed tidying and clearing of various items of junk. He was especially keen that we should do the job quickly as he was anxious to get his first tenants in so that his investment would start generating income. We were able to book in to do the job two days after first contact and assured the client that we’d be able to complete the full house clearance within one day.
House Clearance Overview
The street outside the home became quite busy at certain times of the day, but there was no where else to park our two vans, creating the possibility of obstruction to traffic and pedestrians. However, we have experience of working in challenging situations so it did not prove to be a problem. We contacted Broadstairs Council and spoke to highways control who were very helpful in assisting us whilst we carried out the clearance.
We then set about removing the large items of furniture which included a sofa, four armchairs, three chests of drawers, two beds and a wooden cabinet. As instructed, we also removed the kitchen cabinets as the new owner was going to put in a new fitted kitchen.
While we worked in the house, two of our colleagues cleared some junk from the garden, pruned back overgrown shrubbery and generally tidied up the space.
Once we’d finished clearing the house and garden, we gave the house a deep clean ready for the decorators and kitchen fitters to come in. The whole job was finished by 6 pm.
Disposal of Contents
We had worked with a number of charities before in the Kent area so we separated the goods that could be reused and arranged for their delivery. Unfortunately, some items were beyond use, and we took them to the local waste recycling station on the outskirts of Broadstairs.
Client Comments
The new owner of the property was very happy with the speed that we had completed the clearance and cleaning. Indeed, our customers are often surprised the first time they hire us at just how quickly we can strip a house from top to bottom. He told us he was planning to expand his buy-to-let business within Kent, and that he would definitely use us again when the occasion arose.
