Clearance Overview

We are experts at packing our vans efficiently and carefully, but even so this job required three vehicles because there were in excess of 50 desks and office chairs, 70 filing cabinets and other items to remove. The accountants had already removed the paperwork they needed and we were asked to shred all other documents, some of which contained confidential details about customers. This produced more than 20 bags of waste paper.

The clearance of the offices was complete by 4 o’clock in the afternoon. We then set to work cleaning the offices, leaving them clean and tidy for the next occupants and the whole clearance and cleaning was completed by 7 o’clock.

Disposal of Contents

All of the furniture was delivered to the second hand office furniture firm’s warehouse and the bags of shredded documents were delivered to the local waste facility for recycling in Ashford. Some kitchen equipment, including a refrigerator and three kettles all in working order, were donated to a local charity hostel. Nothing went to landfill, which is always our aim with any clearance we do.

Office Clearance Requirements

Although our bread and butter work is house clearance, we’re also happy to undertake office and commercial property clearances. In this case, the client was a firm of accountants who were acting as administrators in an insolvency case involving a technology firm which had gone bankrupt. We were asked to clear the offices set on an industrial estate in Ashford. Around 50 people had worked there, so there was a large amount of desks, filing cabinets and sundry office equipment to clear. All of the contents were to be delivered to a warehouse owned by a firm of second hand office furniture dealers within the Kent area.
