Job description: We were appointed by a customer to collect keys in Hartlepool for a verminous property in Middlesbrough that the customer owned and needed cleared quickly because it was becoming a growing concern for the residents, neighbourhood welfare officer, environmental agency and animal welfare officers who had been called out to investigate a number of animals (rats, cats and pigeons) trapped in the property some time before our appointment; sadly animals which had perished and were needing removed from the property on our arrival.

When we arrived at the property the front door had been damaged by the animal welfare officers so the first remit of the job was to fix that and then undertake the removal of all dead animals, effected furniture, faeces and urine, decaying foodstuff, carpets, fixtures and fittings and to give the property a quick clean over as requested by the customer. As there were also some personal items of the customer that were salvageable including clothes, books, personal files and documentation, a TV, a bookcase and a piano we informed the customer of this and on his advice transported the items back to Hartlepool after the job was completed.

We were also instructed by the customer to arrange for an estate agent to be called out to view the property to put it on the market. Using our contacts we called in a leading valuer who came and valued the property at a satisfactory price for the customer. We also had to liaise with the environmental agency and the neighbourhood welfare officer. The job was completed from top to bottom, inside out, in less than half a day.
