Haringey and Tottenham Green team seize fly-tipping vehicle

HARINGEY Council has collaborated with the Tottenham Green Safer Neighbourhoods team to seize a vehicle suspected of being involved in fly-tipping.

The Safer Neighbourhoods team of Tottenham Green, which is an urban ward within the borough of Haringey, seeks to reduce fly-tipping in the area.

It is suspected that the vehicle was involved in a number of fly-tipping cases in Haringey.

The people believed to be responsible for the alleged envirocrimes are currently being investigated.

Haringey's cabinet member for enforcement and safer communities, Cllr Nilgun Canver, said: "We want to give a clear message to potential offenders that this type of anti-social and environmentally irresponsible behaviour will not be tolerated in Haringey."

Sergeant Iain Williams of the Tottenham Green Safer Neighbourhoods team said: “We have a great relationship with the enforcement arm of Haringey Council. My team are running a number of proactive operations targeting fly-tipping in the area.”
