Job description: We were appointed to clear a void and what can only be described as a cellar in the West Duckering part of The College of Richard Collyer, Horsham, West Sussex via a trap door in the floor and a servicing door in a wall (see photos). The height of the void and cellar from floor to ceiling was just under 5ft making it impossible to stand up straight and also contained no lighting. In order to carry out the job in a safe manner our staff rigged up lighting before removing 10 old desks, over 50 chairs, 40 desk tops, various musical instuments, old computer parts, scrap metal, paperwork and other items of junk. All told the total weight of contents removed and recycled ammounted to just over 2 tonnes. The job was completed in under 3.5 hours with 4 members of staff carrying out the work.
