Thanks Abacus for a great job. With my mother having moved into a nursing home and the property being sold I was faced with the difficult task of clearing my mother’s home. Not least because I live 300 miles away in London. One phonecall to Abacus however and everything was sorted. They turned up at the time that I arranged to meet them (actually 10 minutes early!) and were ever so polite and helpful in clearing the property - even down to the rubbish in the garage. A professional job by a company that deserves to succeed.

I recently arranged to have the property of my late father, address as above, cleared by your company. This clearance took place on Tuesday 19th February. The whole operation went very smoothly. Chris and Jim (Abacus staff) arrived promptly and immediately got to work. Throughout the time they were with us they worked tirelessly and with great sympathy and understanding. If they were unsure of anything they always asked and made everything very easy for my brother and me. Nothing was too much trouble and I would have no hesitation in recommending your services. I am writing to congratulate you and your staff on the professional manner in which you responded to my request to clear my mother’s house. The van arrived early in the morning, it was clean, the men smartly and properly dressed in company logo work clothes, extremely polite, co-operative and competent. The clearance and associated removals of furniture to two of my sisters’ houses (80 miles apart) was done in the day, even though this meant the men did not get back to their homes until 10pm that night. I consider this to be worthy of a special thank you so I have taken the time to write this note of appreciation.

After contacting Abacus on Wednesday morning they were available on the first day I requested, the following Saturday. Their no fuss approach was greatly appreciated. I chose Abacus because on their website they stated they cleared mansions and that no job was too big or too small. Believe me clearing Houghton Hall was going to be a monumental task given the number of rooms filled with old junk.
I invited them to come and have a look around hoping they would say “yes, we’ll do it”, as others I had called all said no or quoted ridiculous prices. Thankfully Abacus said yes and at a most reasonable price too.
They asked for 2 weeks maximum to clear the Hall and for permission to stay on the premises with their caravan so they could save on travel expenses and time, as well as having permission to hire large yard skips. Having agreed on all the details I pretty much left them to get on with their business.
What unfolded was astonishing. To witness the clearance of all those rooms and all that rubbish in 10 days was amazing. I thought their 2 week estimate was rather optimistic myself, but they did indeed complete the job on time, just like they promised.
I can’t thank them enough. A splendid job from very amiable guys who were both friendly and courteous to myself and my family at all times. Abacus were highly organised, professional and expertly got the job done. I recommend them 100%
