Recycling Articles : Why Recycling Is ImportantBack To Recycling Articles Index There are many reasons why we should take up recycling, the least being the local councils are going to start fining those residents who continually throw their rubbish into the wrong containers. One of the biggest reasons why we should all adopt measures to recycle is the environment; the sheer volume of rubbish that we throw away every single year is continually rising and is having an impact on the environment without a doubt.Without a doubt one of the main reasons why we should recycle is to reduce the vast amount of rubbish that is going into the landfills, if we continue as we are right now then we will simply run out of space for our rubbish. In the UK the landfill is the number one source for waste disposal and while there have been much advancement in the technology of the landfill it still takes time for the rubbish to break down. While of course this is important, there are also other factors which we should take into account when it comes to recycling. If we recycle then we are able to recover and reuse resources, for example if we make aluminium cans from recycled ones then we dont have to mine for the products needed to make new aluminium cans, which of course is great for the environment as we are not disturbing it and it saves money and time. Not only has this but it reduced the amount of pollution we are putting into the air if we have to make products from raw untreated substances. Along with recycling the rubbish in our homes it is also a great idea to get into the habit of buying goods which have been recycled. Where possible dont buy materials that you will just throw away such as paper plates, cups, disposable nappies etc. the government and local councils are doing everything possible to encourage us to recycle, so far they have introduced the green bins, bags for newspapers, containers for bottles and cans and are giving us encouragement to recycle by introducing fines and penalties. If people dont take measures, then eventually along with the possibility of running out of landfill space we can see charges for the removal of our rubbish based per kilo on the amount that we throw away which we cant recycle and this will bee measured by a micro chip which will be placed in the lid of the wheelie bin. Already it is thought that around 400,000 wheelie bins in the UK have already been fitted with this small chip which is smaller than a penny coin. This is thought to be a way of getting people to take more notice of what they actually throw in their bin and to get across how important it is to recycle.
